Metaclads / Projects

Selected work · Delhi NCR & Agra

Fifteen hundred elevations.
Eight you can visit.

The most useful reference in this trade is a building you can stand in front of. Each of these was drawn, engineered, punched, coated and installed by the same company — so where the detail is good there is nobody else to credit, and where it was hard, we know exactly why.

NMB Narayan Mistham Bhandar shopfront in Agra clad in a full-height Metaclads Coin Matrix screen in gold, the field graded so flowing vertical striations run down the face, with white NMB lettering standing off the mesh.

NMB — Narayan Mistham Bhandar

Agra · Retail landmark

One screen covers the entire shopfront. The field is graded — dense at the margins, opening through the centre — so the thinning draws flowing vertical striations across the face, a pattern that only resolves from across the street. Frame, fascia and screen are all the same gold, with downlights recessed into the soffit above.

The call we madeThe white NMB letters stand off the mesh rather than sitting on a separate sign board. That single decision is why the elevation reads as one object instead of a shop with a sign bolted on.
Fancy Furnishers retail elevation filled by a Metaclads Coin Matrix screen in champagne gold, set in a heavy gold frame with the field graded so the open runs curve down the sheet like hanging drapery, fluted vertical panels closing both sides.

Fancy Furnishers & Decorators

Delhi NCR · Retail

A champagne-gold screen fills the centre of the elevation, the field graded so the lit runs curve down the sheet like drapery. Fluted vertical panels in the same finish close both sides and carry the frame around the opening.

The call we madeThe brand lettering sits low, where the pattern gathers, and the glazed retail floor below was left completely clear. The screen holds the street on its own — nothing competes with it.
Metaclads Coin Matrix cladding on a residence — circular metal discs in a dense matrix turning the corner of the balcony stack, with dark timber soffits and glass balustrades below.

Coin Matrix residence

Delhi NCR · Residential

A gold screen turns the corner of the balcony stack and folds back along the return, its openings fine enough to read as one continuous texture from street level. The floors below step out in dark timber soffits behind glass balustrades.

The hard partTurning a disc field around a corner without the rhythm resetting. The panel joints had to fall where the eye doesn't look — which is a drawing problem long before it is a fabrication one.
Metaclads Coin Matrix cladding photographed close up looking steeply up the building face — small circular discs fixed in rows across flat panels, each pivoted to its own angle so the rows twist into dense swirling patterns.

Coin Matrix — panel detail

Delhi NCR · Close inspection

Thousands of discs fixed in rows across pale backing panels, each turned to its own angle so the field reads as a shifting image rather than a flat grid. The pattern runs on across the panel joints and past the punched window openings.

The test most cladding failsFrom forty metres almost anything looks acceptable. At two metres the fixings show. This is what ours looks like at two metres — which is why we photograph it that way.
Metaclads Perforated Panel façade combining grey perforated metal screens carrying a graded dot pattern with a warm corten elliptical disc and a rounded corten frame stepping forward below it.

Perforated Panel with corten

Delhi NCR

Grey perforated panels carry a dot pattern that thickens and thins into a soft image, running on across the panel joints rather than repeating within them. A plain elliptical disc in warm corten is fixed over the field, and a rounded corten frame steps forward below it.

Why it worksThree surfaces, three light behaviours — flat sheet, punched field and solid disc. Put them in one finish and it dies; the corten against grey is what gives the elevation depth.
Metaclads Shingles elevation layered with overlapping metal shingles in mixed white, grey and charcoal stepping across the first floor like scales, cut away at the centre to open a balcony.
Metaclads Shingles · Mixed tone

Meta Shingles residence

Delhi NCR · Residential

Small shingles wrap the first floor in mixed white, grey and charcoal, laid in staggered courses so the tones scatter instead of banding. The run is cut away at the centre to open the balcony behind it and continues around onto the side elevation.

The hard partRandom is difficult to manufacture. Tones have to be sequenced on the shop floor, not on site — otherwise the installer's eye creates stripes nobody drew.
Metaclads Shingles in copper and gold lapped across a curved façade, the courses sweeping into a wave against dark glazing.

Meta Blossom

Delhi NCR

Pointed shingles lapped in staggered courses across a curved face, each standing off its bracket so the field carries shadow as well as colour. Sweep the courses and the whole elevation appears to move.

The call we madeGrey stone and dark ribbed soffits either side, so the metal is the only bright surface on the building. Restraint around a feature is what makes the feature.

Private residence —
Metaclads 3D Cassettes.

Faceted cassettes across the first floor, dark vertical aluminium louvers down the right bay, glazed balcony railings and a deep timber-lined soffit — all from one set of shop drawings, one plant and one install crew. Drag the handle, or use the arrow keys, and check the built face against the sheet it came from.

Metaclads façade fabrication drawing — front elevation of a residential building with level markers, leaders naming the vertical aluminium louvers, glazed balcony railing and aluminium window system, and triangular hatching marking the faceted cassette band.
The same Metaclads façade built and photographed square on — four storeys with timber-lined soffit, curved concrete feature, dark vertical aluminium louvers and a full-width band of faceted triangular cassettes at first-floor level.
